1. The wind storm yesterday. Knocked two large limbs from one of the trees outside my building and neither landed on the cars beside the tree.

2. Fabric made from spider silk! Thanks to my friend Kitty Black who shared this in Ravelry.

Red Hot Swap Schwag, originally uploaded by Adelable.
I took part in a swap on Ravelry (have I mentioned recently how much I love Ravelry?) and these items are what I received! That Zauberball yarn is the softest ever! And I can’t wait to get some time to start spinning that tussah silk in the opposite corner. Also, mittenettes are my favourite Autumn accessory.
1. Wear blue jeans and a red t-shirt to visit your father who is waiting for a repair to the combine.
2. Look at combine wheel well and wonder if you can fit inside.
3. Insert self in said wheel well and have your father take photo (hence “Daddy Bean” since he took the picture).

1. If you’re a local and you love CJSR, it’s their annual FunDrive. If you’re not a local, you can stream it online and come to love it and maybe you’ll want to donate too! My favourite show these days is English Breakfast on Thursday mornings.

2. It’s Jim Henson’s Birthday! Happy birthday Jim! He would have been 73 today.

I built the structure out of buckram and wire, covered it with silk and it’s lined with navy viscose lining and striped grosgrain ribbon. I made the flowers out of (sadly) polyester ribbon; there aren’t a lot of sources for silk ribbon in Edmonton.
Kai-Mei by Cookie A. (Ravelry Link)

2 skeins of Koigu Painter’s Palette Premium Merino (KPPPM) in colourway P802, purchased at Lettuce Knit for me by my dear friend Raura. I used 2.5 mm needles.
I LOVED making these socks. I did a little modification to the pattern because I wanted to carry on some sort of design rather than just leaving the lace end abruptly. And I was fascinated by the difference between the pooling and the striping in the two different skeins. I love hand-painted yarns.
I couldn’t think of a title for this post. Weird.
I was going to post a 1920s outfit I just constructed but I don’t like any of the photos. So here are some flowers I’m constructing to put on a mourning hat for 1905 street.

And a scarf I made for work out of fisherman’s rib (there are no purls in the construction of this scarf).

And I’ve started another blog. It’s going to be random photos without explanations, just titles. Visit it or don’t, it’s just something I wanted to do.
